IngleSea was founded by the former Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Fir Tree Partners, a multi-strategy group of funds with assets under management exceeding $13 Billion, regularly ranking as one of the largest hedge funds in the world.

Andrew Fredman

Managing Partner

Prior to IngleSea,  from 2000-2015, Mr Fredman was the Managing Partner directly overseeing all investment activities at Fir Tree Partners, an institutional investment manager with multiple public and private investment strategies.

Under Mr. Fredman, assets under management grew from $300mm to $13billion and the fund was regularly ranked as one of the largest hedge funds in the world.  He founded and led multiple new initiatives/funds including activist distressed debt investments, with sizable positions in corporate credit, distressed mortgage securities, structured products, capital structure arbitrage, real estate, and sovereign credits.  In addition he oversaw all equity investments, and co-managed the overall strategic direction of the firm.  Prior to Fir Tree, Mr Fredman held senior positions at Everest Capital and Banque Paribas.   Mr. Fredman received an MBA from Columbia Business School and as BA in economics from Tulane University.  Mr. Fredman is actively engaged in a variety of philanthropic endeavors

Irvin Schlussel

Managing Director

Irvin Schlussel has over 15 years of experience in finance and investment management. Previously he served as the Managing Partner of Advantage Capital Management & Senior Analyst for the Xaraf group within Paloma Partners.

The Majority of Mr. Schlussel’s career has been focused on investment strategies involving special situations, distressed debt and capital structure arbitrage. He began his career in 2003 as an equity research associate at UBS. Mr. Schlussel graduated with honors in 2003 from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics.
